Practical Company Valuation Training in Cyprus
Understanding how a company is valued is critical for professionals involved in investments, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder transactions, corporate restructuring and business advisory services.
Recognising the importance of informed valuation in today’s increasingly complex business environment, the European Legal Training Centre (ELTC) is offering a practical training programme focused on company valuation in Cyprus, bringing together financial valuation techniques with the legal, tax and transactional considerations that shape real-world valuation outcomes.
The programme is designed to give participants a clear and practical understanding of how business value is determined, how valuation reports are prepared and interpreted, and how valuations can influence negotiations, investment decisions, shareholder arrangements and corporate restructuring.
Participants will explore key valuation methodologies, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), EBITDA multiples and net asset approaches, through practical examples, case studies and transaction-based scenarios. The programme goes beyond the mechanics of valuation to examine the wider considerations that professionals need to understand when valuations are used in actual transactions.
Particular attention will be given to the Cyprus Companies Law, relevant tax implications, transfer pricing considerations and regulatory expectations surrounding independent and arm’s-length valuations. This integrated approach is intended to help participants understand not only how a company is valued, but also the legal and commercial context in which that valuation is applied.
By the end of the programme, participants will be better equipped to assess valuation reports, identify key assumptions and potential risks, understand the factors that drive company value and contribute more effectively to transactions, negotiations and strategic business decisions.
The training is particularly relevant to lawyers, accountants, financial professionals, corporate advisors, investors and other professionals who encounter company valuations as part of their work and want to develop a stronger understanding of both the financial and legal dimensions of the process.
With its practical, transaction-focused approach, the programme aims to bridge the gap between valuation theory and its application in the Cyprus business and corporate environment.
