GDPR
As businesses innovate in a digital and data-driven world, compliance with data regulations is becoming increasingly complex and challenging. Despina Panayiotou | Partner
Despina is a Cyprus qualified lawyer with over 15 years’ experience in banking and finance and corporate matters. She has substantial in-house general counsel experience in the banking industry as well as in private practice. As an in-house legal advisor in a systemic bank in Cyprus for over 10 years, she has gained experience in a wide spectrum of legal fields especially those relating to banking, financing, corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, as well as employment law. She has an LLB from the University of Leicester, an LLM from the University of Manchester and a postgraduate certificate in Sports Law from Kings College London. She was first admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2004. She is fluent in English and Greek.

Eva possesses over two decades of expertise in the legal field, having served in a variety of companies with a diverse range of experiences both within a traditional law firm setting and in-house. She has served as a senior associate in the corporate department of a prominent law firm for 8 years and has provided legal and corporate services to international organizations and financial institutions in her role within the administrative services sector. As an in-house legal advisor in a systemic bank for 7 years, she provided comprehensive support in the areas of corporate, commercial and regulatory law. Eva's broad range of experiences and education, including an LLB from Keele University and an LLM from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, have equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of corporate, commercial, and banking law. She is also a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and is fluent in both English and Greek.
